WIGHTMAN

The WIGHTMAN I have researched is Valentine of Providence. It is
presumed that Valentine is a brother of your George of Kings Towne
and Daniel of Newport. I have no further information on Daniel.

These Rhode Island WIGHTMANs claim to be descended from Edward
WIGHTMAN of Burton-upon-Trent, England. Edward was the last martyr by
fire on English soil. He was put to death for heresy at Litchfield,
England on April 11, 1612.

 George Wightman, Sr. b.1632 settled in Kings Towne,R.I.His wife's
 name does not show in his bible record or his will of January 1722.
 Unfortunately, part of his will was destroyed by fire. You may be
 able to find copies of the remainder, which does name the children,
 in the town records at Kingstown,R.I.
