Hester SHERMAN (1606-1665) The author refutes the older idea that Andrew Ward (1597-1659) was the son of Richard Ward and Anne Gunville and discusses in depth his idea that there is good chance that Andrew 1597 is the son of another Andrew who is the son of Richard and Anne Ward. Families of Old Fairfield, ca.1930, Donald L. Jacobus, on page 643- 645 questioned the validity of an Andrew Ward Genealogy. I wonder if the above genealogy is the one Jacobus was questioning? County Public library as well as the Library at the Mormon Temple in Santa Monica. When I said "All CT. books seems to say the same things, I was referring to WARD, since that is the name I have been searching. Andrew WARD who md. Hester Sherman is about my 6th ggfather. Up to this point, I have not checked the books I listed for Sherman info - since I was only collecting WARD. The Ancestral File is the source that told me Hester's lineage was Edmund & Judith - and raised the question of her parentage. The publishing dates of the books I listed are as follows: Families of Early Guilf. by Talcott - 1984 Families of Ancient New Haven by Jacobus - 1974 Andrew Ward Desc. by SH Ward - 1942 Hist. of the Plantation Men.. I did not write down the author or date. I understood the name Menunkatuck to mean the earliest name for the area now known as CT. I will have to go back to all these books to check for SHERMAN. I may not get up to LA again for a month or two, but I will check these sources and make copies for you. Most places are ten cents here.
