TROWBRIDGE by Carolyn Adams 26 Jan 1990 ------------------------------------------------ Thomas Trowbridge, an immigrant to Conn circa 1630, has a proven line of descent to Charlemagne; Pres R B Hayes shared this line, as I recall. Higginson Books, Derby Square, Salem, MA 01970 has reprinted the book and sells it for $150. It is 840 pps, fully indexed, and is the definitive work on the TROWBRIDGE family to the time of its publication. "The Old Families of Salisbury and Amesbury" by David W. Hoyt has much information on the early GREELEY family and many, many others from that area. It was published last by the New England History Press, Somersworth NH 03878 in 1981 and sells for around $55. It is almost 1100 pages and can be a bit confusing to negotiate, but well worth the price. Andrew GREELEY, b. circa 1617, was the first in this country. Horace GREELEY, founder of the NY Herald Tribune was a descendant. There are several GREELEY cousins on this Echo, including Jack Chandler, Dan Parry, Richard Pence and Cole Waite. If you give me the information you have on your earliest TROWBRIDGE I will be happy to check it out in the TROWBRIDGE book and make copies of the pertinent pages for you. I deduce from one of your other messages that you are in the Air Force and about to be stationed in England. This Echo is available over there. Mike Fisher is particularly active on it and lives near London I believe. I work for the AF in the Pentagon so you could reach me at DSN 225-9235 between 0700-1530 EDST. Good luck and happy hunting. I envy your opportunity to live in England for a tour!!!
