I am interested in related families and surnames which I'll research once I get further along the SUTTON history. . My Great-Great-Grandfather was William Sutton born in Vermont. Estimated birthdate is 1830. He married a Mary Abercrombie (abercromby) of Vermont. . My Great-Grandfather was James A. Sutton born approx. 1855-1860 in Vermont. He was married to Mary Agnes Lynch in Montreal, Canada in 28 AUG 1883 at St Patricks Parish. Mary Lynch was the daughter of Patrick Lynch and Catharine Curran both of whom are listed as having been born in Ireland. . My Grandfather was James A. Sutton, Jr. born in Montreal in 28 August 1888. He moved to and lived in Worcester, MA the majority of his life. . I saw that you are similarly researching the SUTTON family name. I would be most interested in knowing if there is any likely connection to my ancestors listed above. I am most willing and interested in sharing genealogical research. One might guesstimate mid-1830's. He married a Mary Abercrombie (abercromby). . My Great-Grandfather was James A. Sutton born approx. 1858 in Canada (unconfirmed). He was married to Mary Agnes Lynch in Montreal, Canada in 28 AUG 1883 at St Patricks Church. Mary Lynch was the daughter of Patrick Lynch and Catharine Curran both of whom are listed as having been born in Ireland. They moved to the Worcester, MA area in about 1891. . I am most interested in talking with you. I have been spending my research time trying to trace my G-Grandfather back from his marriage in Montreal in 1883. I cannot yet really tie him back to England, Scotland or Ireland. I have found hints but no definite documentation. Thus, it would be tough to know if your Sutton research or the Virginia Sutton research or VT/NY Sutton research ties to my family line. It is ALWAYS useful though to understand more about the UK Sutton families as that new knowledge inevitably yields useful clues. Do you have a SUTTON line traced to the US immigration point?
