STUMP in New York by Joseph Barrus Mon Feb 24 1992 ------------------------------- Hello out there, I am trying to find out any information on the STUMP family of New York, NY. My ancestor, Daniel STUMP married a Jane _____ sometime before 1821, probably in Manhatten. I believe Daniel was the son of a Johann George STUMP and Elizabeth, being born in Manhatten on Nov 12 1791. He had brothers and sisters: Ludewig b. Dec 4, 1793, Elisabeth b. Sep 4, 1795, Anna Maria b. Jan 13, 1798, Johan George b. Sep 30, 1789 and Maria Margaretha b. Feb 21, 1788. My guess is that Johan George and Elizabeth were married around 1787, possibly in New York, but maybe in Germany. I don't have any idea when they came over or even if they were immigrants. They may have been born in New York for all I know. Any help would be appreciated.
