Reference Marie SLACK, dau. of John SLAUGHT and Margaret _____.

        If the John I found is yours, you had better drop a line to
Virginia Peterson, because I think your cousins!  I did find a John
SLAGHT, b. 28 Mar 1776, probably Morris Co., NJ.  He married a Margaret
PAUL.  Unfortunately, I have no information on their children.  If this
is your tie in, its to the the same line as what I provided to Virginia.
Your both related to Abraham SLECHT (SLAGHT) and Jannetje Van der
HOEVEN.  The summary line is as follows:

There has been quite a bit written about the SLECHT line, and quite
a bit concerning the NJ branch of the family.  I have a book called
"NIEUW NEDERLANDT TO NORFOLK (The Slaghts)" by Perry Courtnage (no date
or publisher).  This is excellent material.  Might try the LDS to see if
they have it on film.  Another good source, although I don't have a
copy, is "Cornelius Barentse SLECHT and some of His Descendants", by
Lawrence T. Slaght (fairly sure this is available in the LDS library and 
the Library of Congress).
There is considerably more data available with full family groups and
have several pages of data on Hendrick Abrames SLAGHT, but little on the
children or grandchildren.  I also have this mostly in my database that
is in ROOTS III format. I can also convert it to GEDCOM if you're
interested.  If so, send me a 5 1/4" floppy disk and I will gladly make
