Will information : You specifically asked for John M. SIPES will. I found a Jonathan Sipe whose will was probated 17 OCT 1863 and dated 6 NOV 1862 in Book 1, pg 518. Mentions sons : Levi, Henry, John, Ezra, and James Banner Sipes; dau : Mary Elizabeth BENSON. Also several references to a wife, but no name. Says his farm is in Westfield Twp. Note the surname is clearly SIPE without the "S". Henry SIPE (again without the "S"), Book 1, page 587. Probated 17 MAY 1865 and dated 26 APR 1865. Brother Ezra, father Jonathan. Mentions other "brothers and sister" and property received from father's estate. I did not find a will for Jacob SIPES or Benjamin C. THOMAS. Other wills : 1. Beginning in 1908, death records were kept by the state and are now on file at the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus up through about 1936.
