My Daniel SHEPHERD m. 1777 Orange Co., NY and then had kids in
Greenbrier Co., VA in 1780's, then to Madison, Montgomery (Bath) Cos.,
KY 1800-1810 and finally to one of the above counties in Ohio about
1812. By 1820 his oldest son had moved to Putnam Co., IN but some of
his other kids stayed in those counties until 1830 with a few staying
later.

His kids were Asa, Sarah (m.James McGLOTHLIN), Solomon, David, Mary
(m.Silas ACHINSON), Nancy, Huldah, Peter, Moses, Celia (m.John
DOWNEY), Rhoda (m1.John GEORGE,m2.Israel SHEPHERD).
 
Where and when did Daniel SHEPHERD (1757-    ) die?  Possibly about
1813-1820.  Looking for obituary, will, estate papers, church records,
cemetery records.  Where was he born?  Who were his parents?  Daniel
was married in the Presbyterian Church in 1777.  His son Asa renewed
his license as a Methodist preacher in 1837 and 1839.
 
Interested in information on all SHEPHERD families in these counties.

In looking through "An Outline History of Orange
County [NY]. . . ." by Samuel W. Eager, Esq., 1846-7,
I found the following Shepherd names: Abram.,
John, and David.  Abram.'s name is listed on a monument
in a church yard in Goshen, NY, which was erected in
memory of those "who fell at The Battle of Minisink,
July 22, 1779" while John and David are listed as signers
of the Revolutionary Pledge in Goshen, NY 1775.
 
Although no genealogical data is given with these names,
if these are possible descedents of your Shepherd, let
me know and I will mail you a xerox.
