Jacobus page.116-131 on BURR. Also from "The Burr Family of America", 1878, by Charles.B. Todd. I descend from Jehu BURR 1625-1692 and Esther WARD 1633-1663. Jehu m2. Elizabeth PRUDDEN. I would like if possible pages from the MARY and JOHN, by Maude P. Kuhns on Rev. Peter PRUDDEN, his parents, siblings, and children. Also the same on Jehu BURR and Elizabeth PRUDDEN. Also any earlier BURR ancestors. If the data is in bits and pieces then you can put it on the BBS but if there is alot I'd prefer a copy from the book. I have the pages (494/5) on Peter PRUDDEN from FoOF. Also for BALDWIN, but Sylvanus is not listed. Let me know if you need them in your letter. In another message today I outlined my "Connecticut Families". James R. Thus, no data therein is primary. Members' pedigree charts are printed. I have found numerous surnames of mothers, then gone to secondary resources to document. One would benefit from this no more than from the Compendium of American Genealogy, although both can serve the need of clues! My entire resource on the HART family between 1605 and 1686 is the book by Alfred Andrews: Stephen Hart and His Descendants. I checked several months ago when in Dallas, for any reference or data to wife: Margaret ----- Smith Hart (Nash), and found none. As she was the second wife of Deacon Stephen Hart, the records seem to ignore the parentage of any ancestors. From that source, I know that they had two sons: John* and Stephen HART. I have found reference to our PRUDDEN lines in three sources: Genealogy of CT Families (Vol.3, p.157); Peter Prudden and some of his Descendants (Lillian E. Prudden, New Haven, 1901); and Inventory of CT Wills, Vol 3, p.33 Richard Baldwin. What I know of this family is: Rev. Peter Prudden (sibling James), b. 1591 Kings Walden, Co. Hertford. Married 1638, Milford, New Haven to Joanne Boyce. She was b. 1615 Litchfield, Roxbury, dau. of Rev. John Boyce (of Halifax, Co. York, Eng) and Joan Stucoe. Their children: * order not known: 1. Mildred 14May1653 New Haven,d:6Jan1611/2 married to Lt. Sylvanus Baldwin 2. Sarah m. Gideon Allen 3. Elizabeth m. Jehu Burr Because of records storage and space, I regret not keeping family group sheets on my wife's lines. I stopped keeping lateral lines somewhere around my 2nd 4 drawer file cabinet. I hope some of this is helpful to you, though. I dont get to Dallas too often, but can note if you need a particular source checked on. The local library is so limited, and they seem to have forgotten that CT is a state! Robert Haack --- Opus-CBCS 1.12c * Origin: Magnum Opus - Carrollton, TX (1:124/6104.0)
