NICHOLSON

       My line is that of Robert NICHOLSON b c1817 (my gr-gr-
grandfather), a railroad employee who had originally come from 
Ireland (County Connought?) with his bride Ellen FLAHERTY. They 
settled in Shamokin, Pa. in the 1860's and ran a hotel there.  She 
died in 1901, Robert having died sometime before.
 
       They had the following children:
 
                Robert, John b c1845 in NY, James, Thomas b c1847
                in Massachusetts, Mary Ellen b c1837 in NY, Edward
                b 1852 in NY and Charles.
