I have a Mercy Nichols, born about 1726 at East Greenwich, RI married
to Josiah MATTESON on 5 Mar 1746 at Coventry, RI. Who are parents of
Mercen Nichols? I would appreciate any help. Bob Heck 4910 Steeple

I'm researching a NICHOLS family in Worceter County, Massachusetts.  I have 
a MARY NICHOLS born in the mid 1700's in the town of Lascaser. Worcester 
County, Mass.  The problem is, there are a number of MARY NICHOLS born 
within a ten year time frame in the town of Lancaster.  My MARY NICHOLS 
married DANIEL JOSLIN, in 1777 in the town of Winchedon, Worcester County, 
Mass.  There was a LEVI NICHOLS living in Lancaster, who had a daughter 
named Mary born during the right time frame.  DANIEL JOSLIN and MARY 
NICHOLS named their first child, Levi, so that leads me to think that the 
child may have been named after the maternal grandfather. But, I haven't 
found a probate record for LEVI NICHOLS in the Worcester County area, that 
might prove if I have the right family.  Hoping he named his married dau. 
by married surname.  Is anyone else researching the NICHOLS family in this 
area?
