Don. You are right the phone is unlisted. The Merriman line is my wifes line. My sister-in-law had been doing some research and I have followed up on it. There are quite a few gaps. I just got started about a month ago on this. I am a raw beginner, not a genealogist. I am a retired Hughes Aircraft Engineer. The roots go back to Nathaniel Merriman born in England, he arrived in New England on 26th May 1632 from the ship "Whale" which I believe was from the Winthrop Fleet. He moved to New Haven Colony in 1641 and was principal founder of Wallingford, Conn. He fought in the French and Indian Wars of 1637 and again in King Philip's war of 1675 as a Lieutenant. He died 13 Feb 1693 at age 80. He and his wife Joan ____ both born in England had 9 children. She died 8 Dec 1709. The males who would have carried the Merriman name were: John B 29 Feb 1659 Married a Hannah and had 4 male children George,John,Israel, and Caleb Samuel B 29 Sep 1662 Married Anna Street and had Nathaniel, Theophilus and Samuel. Caleb B May 1665 married Mary Preston and had 6 daughters but only one son named Moses born 31 Oct 1691. It is not know which of the Merrimans our line follows but it is believed to be Samuel as his son Nathaniel had sons David and Nathaniel which do appear in the line and my wife is from Davids line.
