                   by Carleen Daggett, 1975 (from Ann Bowman)
      George B has middle name Barnett which seems more likely
      his mother's maiden name than he married a Barnett, the
      Sarah Barnett might be his mother rather than wife which
      would fit with the Jeremiah father below.

The above is the only reference I can find to Martha Mitchell.

       Jeremiah McWhorter, apparently same as above:
           "married either Sarah or Ruth Barnett 'See Will
            of Hugh Barnett:  ..I will and bequeath unto each
            of my daughters Sarah McWhirter and Ruth McWhirter
            to each of them Fourty shillings."

It appears to me that there may be skipping or confusion
between the George McWhorter who had the land grant in
PA in 1739 and
        the George B. McWhorter m Martha Mitchell
From Don Wallace:
       Thomas Mitchell from Ireland to PA  1682
           Martha Mitchell                  to VA
       Note that Hugh B. McWhirter was born in VA
       and his younger brother
                 George B. may also have been  VA
