There are several books on McKEEs.  If you belong (or know a 
member of NGS) they can be borrowed from the NGS Library.  
Otherwise you might be able to get on interlibrary loan:

    "The McKEEs of Virginia and Kentucky", by Geo. W. McKEE,
       Pittsburgh  PA, 1891.
    "The History of the Descendants of David McKEE of Anahilt",
       by James Y. McKEE, Philadelphia, PA 1892.
    "The Book of McKEE", Raymond W. McKEE, 1959.(This is two vols 
       and quite extensive.)    
    "The Descendants of Sam'l Edward McKEE and Martha Ann 
      EMMART", by Emil M. SUNLEY 1968.

Seeking the parents/family of Margaret McKEE, central Penna.
        
Margaret McKEE, b. abt 1812, m. Jesse GRIFFITH, lived in Jenner 
twp, Somerset Co., PA.  Since Jesse was born 1816, and raised in 
Somerset Co., it seems likely that Margaret may have been also.  
Children: Sarah J., Martha A., Wesley, Nancy, Nelson, Amanda.     
             
A Thomas McKEE married Lydia GRIFFITH, Jesse's sister.  Although 
not certain, it seems likely that Thomas and Margaret were 
siblings or at least cousins.  Will appreciate any info that you
might have that might relate to Margaret/Thomas McKEE.

My MCKEE ancestors were Scot-Irish, immigrated to Westmoreland Co. PA ca 
1828-1830.  Joseph MCKEE m. Sarah MCCULLOUGH in Ireland.  They had several 
children when im. & settled near Freeport PA.  If you have any info, or 
know anyone researching this line, would appreciate knowing.
