My particular branch is out of Nova Scotia. I'm presently trying to get hold of 3 books: The ancestral McCURDYs, their origin and remote history; Genealogical record & biographical sketches of the McCURDYs of N.S. (both by H. Percy Blanchard) Early McCURDYs in Maine (their antecedants and descendants) The last two books in particular branch out into MANY families, and the second book brings the families up to date through 1930. My grandparents are mentioned within. I don't see an immediate connection between us, but I'm getting a LOT of info over the next couple months,o who knows? Kevin Hall 809 S East St Amherst, MA 01002 Get me your address and send a more complete tree to this address and if I run across anything, I'll be sure to let you know. Thanks, Kevin. =============================================== 015/652 18 May 90 10:18:20 From: Kevin Hall To: Larry Mccurdy Subj: McCURDY ----------------------------------------------- I can't see a direct connection, but I'm going to be getting a lot of information over the next couple months, so who knowsI'm getting hold of 3 books on McCURDY families, one of which my family is definitely listed in soon. As far as I can tell a lot of other descendants are listed as well. (If Robert Mclaren's message is still on, read it). Anyway, I'd be happy to check your guys' branch as well. Give me your address and we can keep each other posted. Kevin Hall 809 S East St Amherst, MA 01002 My McCURDYs landed in Boston in 1762 from IRE and spread from there. My particular branch spent most of its time in Nova Scotia. Thanks, Kevin. ================================================ 658/724 12 May 90 23:55:19 From: Larry Mccurdy To: Kevin Hall Subj: Re: McCURDY ------------------------------------------------ My McCurdy's came from Path Valley, Pa. to Ohio in 1822. They settled in Crawford County, and essentially stayed until the present generations. Information I have prior to 1800 is not accurate and we are trying to find the correct line. My first reliable ancestor is James McCurdy who is the man who moved to Ohio in 1822. Thanks for your interest. When and where are your McCurdy's; I have a book on McCurdy History, some is not accurate, especially in the mid 1800's, but parts are quite reliable. 113/917 21 May 90 23:12:42 From: Larry Mccurdy To: Kevin Hall Subj: Re: McCURDY Attr: ------------------------------------------------ Kevin, Thanks for the reply, I saw your your message to Robert and those three books sound interesting. Let me know where you found them. My printed source is "Historical Geneology of the McCurdy Family" compiled by D. E. McCurdy. Among other places it is in the Newberry Library in Ill. If you'd like I had a copy printed from there and I would duplicate it for you. My address is Larry McCurdy 2760 Southwood Dr. East Lansing, Mi. 48823 I'll record your address on to my files and keep you informed on anything I pick up. I too have high hopes of coming up with some good information in the nest few months Thanks again!!
