I have the following on MANNINGS in NJ.
 
John MANNING married Sophia Fitz RANDOLPH dtr. of Joseph Fitz
RANDOLPH and Esther BRODERICK.  They had a son, Samuel MANNING who
married Elizabeth Fitz RANDOLPH dtr. of Rev. Jacob FitzRANDOLPH.
Samuel and Elizabeth MANNING had a son, Randolph MANNING, who was the
first Gov. of Michigan and a Judge of the Michigan Supreme Court.

I don't know how this John MANNING descended from the original
immigrant. The original MANNING immigrant was John who came in 1635
from England on the "Globe".  He had a son Jeffrey MANNING born in
1645. Jeffrey MANNING married Hepsibah ANDREWS dtr. of John ANDREWS
 
Jeffrey & Hepsibah MANNING had children
   i. Elizabeth married Thomas Fitz RANDOLPH, son of Edward Fitz  RANDOLPH
              and Elizabeth Blossom.
      ii James married Christina LAING (he was b. 25 Apr 1674)
                i. James, Jr b. 23 May 1700, m. Grace Fitz RANDOLPH 
                        dtr. of Joseph FitzRANDOLPH and Rebecca DRAKE
                        i. James III was first president of Brown Univ.
                        ii. Enoch born ca. 1745 married Janet EDGAR
                                i. Mary born 5 Sep 1784 in Plainfield, 
                                     NJ, died 9 Mar, 1865 in Plainfield,
                                     married Joseph Fitz RANDOLPH V,
                                     son of Joseph Fitz RANDOLPH and 
                                     Mary LAING
                                        i. Enoch Manning b. 8 Dec1848
                                        ii.May died 1858
                                        iii.Samuel Manning b. ca 1819, 
                                            died 1888, married Irene
                                            Coriell BROKAW
 
I have another unconnected MANNING -- Mary MANNING married Samuel
HULL who was born in 1650. I have additional background data on the
FITZ RANDOLPHs listed here if that would be of use to you.  Let me
know.
I would appreciate anything else you hight have on Peter Fitz RANDOLPH.
