KINNEY or KINNE by David Canney Mon Oct 28 1991 ------------------------------- Here is my KINNE information: Thomas KINNE John KINNE of Kings Lyon, Norfolk, Eng. Henry KINNE b 1623 Eng m. Eveline PHILLIPS Ann Sylvinia KINNE b. 1835 West Stockbridge, Ma., d. 1929 So. Hadley, Ma. m. Lawrence STEDMAN If you would like additional information let me know. There were still quite a few KINNES in Ct. in the late 1700's and the family of a Thomas KINNE(not my Thomas) seem to have gone to New York. I think the fact that yours went from CT to RI and then to NY is what is going to give you the trouble. --------------------------------- Date: Sat Nov 02 1991 21:46:58 From: David Canney To: Glen Keeney Subj: KINNEY, KINNE ------------------------------- My sources for the KINNE, KINNEY, KENNE, KENNEY, KEYNEY, KINE, KENNEE, line is The Genealogy of Henry & Ann Kinne by Florence Keeney Robertson, History of the Putnam Family of England and American by Eben Putnam 1891 and the Perley History of Salem, Ma 1928. According to my information Henry Kinne was born 8 July 1623 Kings Lynn, Norfolk, Eng. and baptised 3 May 1624 Leyden, Holland, where his Puritan parents had gone to escape religious persecution. Henry first appears in Roxbury June 21 1639 when he was apprenticed to Wm. PARK by Vincent POTTER who was presumably a relative and who brought him from Holland in May 1635 by way of London on ship "elizabeth and Ann" which sailed for the New World April 29, 1635. Appears in Ipswich, Ma in 1648 and in Salem, Ma. in 1667. Does all this information match with you Alexander? I do not have any information regarding Henry and Alexander being brothers at this time but who knows what the future will bring. Henry's children were John b. 11 Jan 1651/2 m. Elizabeth LOOKE. Let me know what you find out. ================================= Date: Wed Nov 06 1991 10:34:00 From: Dexter Edge To: Susan Canney Subj: KINNEY ------------------------------- I have noted some of your messages to and from Gt Moore re the KINNE family. Am wondering if you may have come across the name Jemima KINNEY anywhere in your research. My chart shows she m. John BLACKMAR of Glocester, RI and d. in 1769, but I have no infor on her place of birth, parents, etc. Your message of 28 Oct 1991 mentioned RI, so at least I may be in the right area. I would appreciate any info or references you may be able to supply. ================================= Date: Mon Nov 11 1991 00:26:02 From: Gt Moore To: Ron Goss Subj: CLARKE/KINNEY ------------------------------- RG==>The mary you show could be Joseph sister or cousin? That would mean that Joseph's father was William, correct? (or of course William's sibling.) Do you have any information which shows that? The times are about right and certainly the area. I'll take that into consideration as I snoop around. RG==>could copy pages of KINNEY names and send to you. Ron, that would be great! I'm always interested in cemetaries containing KINNEYs. I have been looking for one around the KINNEYS CORNER area (probably in NY) for years, but have not been able to visit the area just yet. You never know what the information in your book will do for me unless I ask. I thank you for the offer to assist. I'll send you a SSAE if you post your address. My information on KINNEY is very limited. I have only: Jemima KINNEY d. 1769 date and place of birth unknown. I would guess she was born circa 1700-1710. She m. John BLACKMAR who was b. 1698 in Gloucester, RI and d. 26 Nov 1741 also in Gloucester. I am assuming that Jemima may have been b. in RI although it could have been elsewhere. Also since my records show she d. 28 years after John, that location could be elsewhere as well. Do any of your records show Jemima? If you see any connection to the above, I would very much like to have a copy of your GEDCOM file. I can read 5-1/4 size disks into PAF or ROOTS III. Will reimburse you for cost. --Dexter Dexter Edge, 2902 Sherwood Dr. Olympia, WA 98501 --- * Origin: Radio Point BBS - Olympia, WA (206) 943-1513 (1:352/11) Date: Mon Feb 24 1992 06:01:00 From: Gary Westfall To: James Davis Subj: Re: GOODRICH, HOLLISTER, KEENEY - BURR, SHERMAN, SHERWOOD, WARD Attr: GENEALOGY ------------------------------- JD> If you really think you have someone in Fairfield, give me some JD> given names and dates and I'll look some more. I too am interested in the KINNEY line in CT. My Thomas KINNEY arrived in CT about 1636, he died c. 1696. I have about 40 different KINNEY names but no dates/places for birth or death but text references that lead me to believe that they were all in CT. At this point, anything you can give me on KINNEY would be appreciated.
