Hinkle by Barbara Lamb Thu Nov 05 1992 ------------------------------- SS>Barb, have had a hard time lately getting computer stuff done. More SS>corrections to Abraham Hinkle-59 family. 591-John Justus Hinkle, b. ca SS>1771,d 1843 Sagamon Co., Ill Susan, thanks for the continuing flow of info. I was only able to find the 1970-1975 Henckel Bulletins at the FHC. I did see in them a few changes to Branch V, an Index to Philadelphia Co, PA Wills (1682-1900), a death date for Rev. Johann Nicolaus Dentzer father-in-law to Rev Anthony Jacob and the notes from the PA Archives about the arrest of Anthony Jacob Hinckel for practicing his ministry. I imagine you have these but if not let me know and I'll send them. SS>pin down exactly who 6512-Charles Hinkle (HG p. 928) married. FHS SS>family records list her as Susanna March but that is incorrect. They SS>were married in 1819 in Rowan Co., NC. If you happen to run across SS>anything on this I would sure appreciate it. Thanks, cuz. Have you ever seen the book "A History and Genealogy of the Henckel's and Hinkle's" by Jean M. Hinkle Riley 1988? It's a paper bound book with much the same info as the H.G. I'm not sure if any of the info is different from Junkin but here it is: p.8 9. Charles HINKLE, Jr. #654, born about 1769, Germantown, PA, married May, 1797 to Susannah MARCH (marriage bond issued May 13, 1797, Silasbury, NC).A second entry has bond issued June 4, 1797, in both records the bonds were signed by Charles HINKLE, Sr., and Jacob MARCH. "In the 1910 [1810?] Census of Shelby County, Kentucky, Charles HINKLE and wife were listed with seven (7) sons and four (4) daughters. In the 1920 [1820?] Census, same location, he was listed with six (6) sons and three (3) daughters, (wife not listed). Of this large family two (2) children have been identified." [Reference: Henckel Genealogical Bulletin, Vol 4 No 1, pp.143-144.] This Charles HINKLE was listed as Charles Anthony HINKLE, Jr., born about 1769, German town, PA, (according to Junken). He died prior to Feb 1849, when he was called deceased in the division of property and slaves to the heirs of his son Casper HINKLE. (Shelby County, KY, Will Book 19, pp. 29,30,31). These deeds were all recorded Nov 13, 1842 and named the heirs: Casper, Charles and March HINKLE. This family is buried Fairview Cemetery, Todd's Point, Shelby County, KY. I don't know if this is any help as it also lists Charles' w. as Susannah MARCH but who knows, it might have some clues. TTYL........Barbara (BTW, I have a thing about being called Barb and would appreciate being called Barbara. One of those quirky things that makes us individuals I guess.
