Deacon Stephen HART (1602-1682/3) born Braintree, Co. Essex, England.
He came to America ca. 1632 via Massachusetts Bay.
The line continues through CT until
marriage with the ROOT family in 1739. I found a good resource on the
HART family to be Stephen Hart and his Descendants by Alfred Andrews.
 
     My HART connection is peripheral.
