Brother Jason b. 1807 in VT m. Selina STURDEVANT
   Moved to Manchester, CT when Jason was 2 yrs. old where father
   kept hotel until 1834 when he moved to Ottawa, IL.  Jason was
   apprenticed as a hatter to Martin Stanley of Hartford and then
   Thomas Greenfield of Middletown.  He was a hatter in Brookfield
   until 1833 when he moved to Chicago.

Brother John Addison Gurley  b. Dec 9, 1813  East Hartford, CN
                             d. Aug 19, 1863 Cinn., OH
   Moved to OH in 1838.  Congressman from OH 1859-1863. Colonel in
Civil War.  Owner & editor of Star & Sentinel (later Star in the
West). Apptd. 1st Governor of Arizona by Lincoln by died en route to
assuming office.
