GORDONS OF GREENE CO., PA by James Hoy Fri Feb 22 1991 ------------------------------- To my grandfather, also James Hoy, the Gordon Connection was his proudest line. He often bragged of his relationship but I was the one who tracted it down as he was always vague about it and at the time ca 1955 I was not interested. The Gordons were a very prominent family in the Greene Co., area and were judges, bankers, elected officials, etc.. My line is as follows: John Gordon and Mary Duke William Gordon and Mary Carroll Margaret Gordon and John Stace Hoy George Hoy and Susanah Mapel Thomas Hoy and Susannah Kent Jim Hoy 718 Gouldman Lane Great Falls, Va 22066 Date: Sat Feb 23 1991 13:57:00 From: George Morgan To: All Subj: MORGAN surname Attr: genealogy ------------------------------- Hello to all, I am seeking information on a book entitled "A History of the Family of Morgan from the year 1089 to Present Times," by Appleton Morgan;New York Published for Subscribers Only prior to 1915. I'm also interested in hearing from any Morgans out there. My family came to New York City about 1801, and has been there since. Several of my great uncles also moved to Duchess County in the later part of the 19th century. One in particular, John Williams Morgan, I believe resided in Peekskill, but I have been unable to locate any information on him. Being fairly new to Geneological research and bbs, I would be greatly appreciative of any help that anyone can give me. Thank you, George Morgan --- * Origin: TRS-Link BBS, Philadelphia, PA, 215-848-5728, HST/V.32 (1:273/909)
