Mary, my DEDERICK line is in Catskill, Greene County, NY at about the
same time -- the two lines probably are related, at least further back. 
My furthest back is James W. b 1800, died intestate in Greene County in
1860.  One of his sons was Peter Zechariah James DEDERICK b 1822 d 1885,
buried in the Catskill Cemetary.  His son Addison Emmet was my Grandma's
grandfather.  I have more info on these families.  Does any of this look
at all promising?  I'm interested in your sister-in-law's DEDERICKs;
maybe together we can find a connection.   neb
