S. 1677". The 6th month was August at that time. The "Kent" anchored and discharged her passengers at the mouth of the Racoon Creek, which empties into the Delaware River at Bridgeport nearly opposite Chester Pa. De Cou"s "Burlington: A Provincial Capital" pg 19-20 Among the 200 passengers we find William Clayton, Most of the passengers were Quakers. William Clayton's family evidently came with him.... William Clayton purchased land from Hans Oelson, one of the original granters of Maracus Hook (now Delaware Co) Pa. which set off from Chester Co. Pa. and settled there. He was a member of Gov.
