I am looking specifically for any information on 2 brothers - Benjamin & Samuel Clark who were born in Ashford, CT., sons of Theophilus Clark. They may also have been with another brother Theophilus Clark. Benjamin was married to a woman named "Nabbe", and he served in the Sullivan campaign against the indians 1788. I suppose they arrived in Wyoming Valley around 1770. Benjamin was born 1748, Samuel in 1752. Bothe eventually settled in Ulster, Bradford County around 1790. Anything you find would be very helpful. Samuel (who I am descended from) was accidentally shot by a deer hunter Christmas day, 1808. I have very little information on him, other than a few county histories of the area. Many thanks. Cynthia Campbell married Benjamin's son John Theophilus Clark.Ben and his brother Samuel (who I believe I come down from) arrived from Ashford, CT. Samuel was born 1752, and Benjamin a few years earlier. I have a great deal of info on Benjamin, and his role as Corporal in the revolution. He was one of the members of the Susquehanna Co, arriving in Wilkes Barre in 1772. He was a member of Durkee's 1st Wyoming military unit. Of all the Wilkes Barre material I have gone through, I cannot place Benjamin's brother Samuel. Samuel was shot to death accidentally in Ulster by a deer hunter Christmas day, 1808. CLARK, Greentree, Vermont. SJ> Do you pick these names up in your line? Hi Shirley, I am not too far along in my research yet but with summer coming I'll be getting out more often. I'll keep your message in my files and as the work progresses will keep in touch with you. In the meantime the only GILBERT from my family that I know of is Herbert Warren GILBERT b. 4 Apr 1879 at Lynn MA and d. 4 Dec 1931 in Troy NY shipped back to Lynn for interrment in Pine Grove Cemetary, Lynn MA. This is all from his tombstone and obit. So Far I have no info on my CLARKs being in Greenfield MA or VT, but who knows what I will find out as I delve deeper. This is a very interesting and addictive hobby isn't it? They left RI about 1837 and moved to Luzerne Co., then to Susquehannah Co. PA. They were in the Susquehannah Co. Census for 1850. Shortly thereafter they moved to Iowa Co., Wisconsin, and then in the 1870's they moved to near Oto, Woodbury Co., Iowa. I would like to know who the parents of Arnold CLARK and Lydia POTTER were. Any clues? Thanks, Marianne --- TMail v1.30 * Origin: Total Access Board 138/103 Tacoma, WA (206)472-9884 (1:138/103)
