CHURCH

     There is a fairly new genealogy  "American Ancestry of L. Warren
Church " by Warren and Glenn W. CHURCH published in 1984.  They have the 
following lineage for Samuel CHURCH (4) of Sheffield and Hadley,Ma.; born 
April 30, 1716 at Hadley and died Oct. 14, 1751 in Sheffield. He was 
married to Sarah (no surname), and they had eight children.  His parents 
were Josiah CHURCH (3) and Thankful BROOKS who were married Nov. 24, 1699.  
Josiah was born April 10, 1673 s/o Capt. Samuel I CHURCH (2) and Mary 
CHURCHILL.  Thankful was born Sept. 19, 1679 at Springfield d/o William 
BROOKS and Mary BURT.  The BROOKS settled in Deerfield, and Josiah in 
Hadley.

     Capt. Samuel I CHURCH (2) was born May 1636/37 in Hartford, Ct. s/o 
Richard CHURCH (1) and Anne MARSH.  He married Mary CHURCHILL in 1664,and 
died in Hadley on April 13, 1684.  Capt. Samuel was a surveyor and came to 
Hadley with his father.  Mary CHURCHILL was born Mar. 24, 1639 and died in 
1690.  She was d/o Josiah CHURCHILL and Elizabeth FOOTE who lived in 
Wethersfield, Ct.

     Richard CHURCH (1) was born in London, England on Feb. 6, 1601 and 
died Dec. 16, 1667 while living with his daughter Mary GRAVES.  He married 
Anne MARSH.  This genealogy said she was from Barnstable but the History of 
Hartford said she was from Braintree and was d/o Edward MARSH.  Anne was 
born 1600 and died March 10, 1684.

     The authors admit that this lineage for Samuel (4) puts them in 
conflict with a genealogy by Alice CHURCH who had him placed in Colchester, 
Ct. and married to Damaris BILLINGS.  At the time of publishing the authors 
could be reached at 470 Hidden Valley Road,Watsonville, CA.  95076.  This 
genealogy had several different families with the CHURCH's being approx. 50 
pages.

     Also found in the V.R. for Woburn the following 4 HARRISON records. 
There were no death records.  Marriage of Charles J. HARRISON to Alcesta 
ONION, both of Woburn on June 11, 1848.  Marriage of Mary A. HARRISON of 
Woburn to William NOLAN of Boston on May 22, 1872.  Marriage of Theodore 
HARRISON to Jane H. KENDALL, both of Woburn on June 20, 1848. (this record 
had a notation " from Burlington V.R. ")  Birth of Henry Thomas HARRISON, 
s/o Charles and Alcesta, on Aug. 17, 1849.  BTW, in the V.R. of Great 
Barrington, Apr. 14, 1762 was the marriage " intention " date for Sarah 
CHURCH and Eleazer BARRITT.
