CHILDS >> EASTMAN/AYRES/KENYON

   Seeking parents and siblings of my GGG-Grandmother, Sally CHILDS.
Sally was born 15 Dec 1833 in Berlin, Erie Co., OH.  Married to
Daniel C. EASTMAN in Cuba, NY on 1 Aug 1858, and had two children
through him.  Mary Lorinda and Benjamin.
              
   After Daniel's capture and death during the Civil War, Sally
remarried to John AYRES at Clarksville, NY on or about 1 Sep 1867
and is said to have had children by him.  John was appointed
guardian of Mary and Benjamin on 22 Oct 1867 and died in April of
1878/79.
       
   Sally remarried once again, this time to Amos KENYON, also of
Clarksville, NY on 14 Aug 1881.  She may also have had children
by Amos.  Amos died on 28 Aug 1891.
         
   From this time on, Sally was referred to as "Grandma Kenyon".
In addition to the loss of three husbands, Sally also lost all her
possessions in a fire on 4 Feb 1905 and depended heavily on her
widow's pension from Daniel's Civil War service.  Sally died on
6 Mar 1917.
         
   I have checked the 1840 census for Berlin County, Ohio and was
unable to locate her family, so it is possible that her family
migrated to New York while Sally was still quite young.  I have
been told that there were a large number of CHILDS in and around
Allegany County, NY.  Included in Daniel's pension records was
several letters regarding Sally, including a deposition given by
a Charles F. CHILDS.  I do not know what his relationship was to
Sally, if any.
