Davis, 6708 Austin Way, Sacramento, CA 95823 (916)-393-9186 Date: Sun Dec 01 1991 18:51:45 From: Deborah Barnes To: Jim Davis Subj: Re: Bulkeley, Allen, Whelpely, Jones, Irby, Grovenor Attr: genealogy ------------------------------- Jim, I have some good news and some bad news. First the good news. We do cross lines at Thomas BULKELEY and Sarah JONES. The bad news is that over the last week or so while doing some research at the LDS Center I found the line I had in my computer had an error. I took some data from the Ancestral Files there and am writing to the submitters to see what their sources were to get the data they have (I got 65 people in the BULKELEY line, including Thomas, Peter, Edward, Thomas and on back at the LDS center to add to my own data base) The data that I have is from a genealogy done by a Rev. Chapman in the 1800's. It is a copy of a handwritten genealogy that was copied from a book published in the 1800's. However, from what I could deduce from a book (Families of Old Fairfield) and the LDS Ancestral File data base, I have the wrong son of Rev. Peter BULKELEY and two generations of my data is incorrect. If you would like me to give me a listing of what I have in my data base, let me know your address and I will send you what I have. Hopefully I will hear from the 3 submitters I have written to soon and I can include only the correct data and sources for you. I have quite a bit of data and would be much to long to include here on the bbs. I'll need your address. I have not done much work on this family yet and don't have much in data but I have quite a few references to BULKELEY. Many of them should be useful. I suspect several aren't. Here's what I show: "History of Fairfield County", 1881, Kate E. Perry (not seen yet) "History of Fairfield County, Conn.", 1881, D.H. Hurd. Peter's ancestry on p.287. Is it OK if I send it to you in GEDCOM? I saw the other day that you were asking about getting the latest version of PAF. Let me know how to download into ASCII or if you will accept it in GEDCOM and I will send it to you as soon as I get your answer, then by return disk, you can send me what you have.
