Saw a few notes on BUCKLIN recently and thought I'd look up a connection of my own for you to check out. I have in my CHILTON/WHITCOMB family a WILLIAM DEXTER BUCKLIN (b 29 Aug 1833) who married Sarah M. WHITCOMB. Both were buried in Shorey Cem., Waldo Co., Me. William was a private in Co. D, 19th Maine Regiment in Civil War. Resided in Morrill, Maine. They had 5 children: Benjamin F. BUCKLIN - married Anna LITTLEFIELD & 4 children Maggie F. BUCKLIN - married Allen HUSTUS, 2 children; married Emerson KNOWLTON, no children William Dexter BUCKLIN Jr. - married Sarah H. JONES & 1 child Leroy BUCKLIN - married Sadie V. KNOWLTON & 6 children Ambrose W. BUCKLIN - married Minnie M. SANBORN & 2 children the above was taken from `History and Genealogy of the Town of Morrill, Maine', by Robinson, Morse, White, pub 1983, reprinted from 1944 edition, by the New England History press.
