BUCKLEY/STAPLETON by Bill Buckley 19 June 1990 ------------------------------------------------ My two BUCKLEY ancestral families settled in the Black Brook area - southern Clinton County and northern Essex County of New York in the mid-1800's. Many of the spouses were from Vermont. I have not yet followed a BUCKLEY family that moved into Vermont but there are several that I have to do. If you have any specific BUCKLEY that I can run against my 200+ database I will get back to you quickly. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Bill Buckley, 9 Fox Hollow, Derry, NH, 03038 (603)432-6698 Searching BUCKLEY & GLEASON, NY - THOMPSON, CT & NY - ROBERTS & McMILLAN, MA --------------------------------------------------------------------- 335/845 19 Jun 90 23:06:50 From: Bill Buckley To: Sue Budlong Subj: Tithe Applotments Attr: ------------------------------------------------ I have read a couple of your recent messages regarding the Tithe Applotment and Griffith's Valuation. I am searching two BUCKLEY lines. Each had arrived in the US by 1850 as they were both in the Federal Census for Black Brook, Clinton County, New York. One BUCKLEY family came from the parish Kinneagh, County Cork, and that's all I know to date although I did find the parish with the help of the Research Aid offered by LDS. The other BUCKLEY family came from Cappawhite, County Tipperary. I have found several church records of birth/baptisms there and recently found records of the parents being married in Solohead and Oola, County Limerick. According to one of your notes I should look for the Tithe Applotment as both of the families would have left before Griffith's Valuation. Sound logical to me. What does on ask for at the Family History Center? My local Center is great but not fluent in much of the Irish history/reference material. I am interested in any products or services available from your firm. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -- --- D'Bridge 1.30/001630 * Origin: Computer Solutions * Manchester, NH * (603) 641-2017 (1:132/142) 269/101 322/1 Date: Sun May 19 1991 12:23:36 From: Bill Buckley To: Everyone Subj: BUCKLEY - Ireland/NY Attr: genealogy ------------------------------- I am working on two BUCKLEY lines. Both came from Ireland. Michael and Ellen BURKE came from Cappawhite, County Tipperary with their children including the eldest daughter, Ellen, and her husband, John BREEN, and the grandchildren. Timothy and Mary _____ came from the civil parish of Kinneagh, County Cork, aboard the ship Fairfield, landing in New York on September 3, 1849, with three of at least four children. Both of these familys settled in Black Brook, Clinton County, New York and were there for the 1850 Federal Census and several after that. --------------------------------------------- Bill Buckley, 9 Fox Hollow, Derry, NH, 03038 (603)432-6698 Searching --> BUCKLEY & GLEASON, NY - THOMPSON, CT & NY & ROBERTS & McMILLAN, MA --------------------------------------------- --- Smlnet 1F * Origin: Computer Solutions * Manchester, NH * (603) 641-2017 (1:132/142)
