They appear to have been in Wisconsin in 1870s and finally in Nebraska in 1880. Robert Brown born ca. 1820 in NY or Vermont or East Canada, per 3 different census records. His family in 1850 living with family of James Brown born ca. 1810. There is an older Robert BROWN in earlier censuses of Bangor. Where did they come from and when? Thank you. LEE family, with whom I am also connected. I discovered the following ancestry of Phebe BROWNE, wife of Thomas LEE who died at sea in 1645, as well as some related data on son Thomas. All data comes from New England Historical & Genealogical Register. Rev. Joseph BROWNE (buried 15 Dec 1605) and wife Mary. Issue: William & w Jane - given house in Rusper, Eng.; children Thomas & Henry mentioned John Susan w of Thomas Leachford Sarah w of Arthur Fenner Phebe w of William Simons. NEHGR, vol 62, pp 199-200. Data from Rev. Joseph BROWNE's will at Chichestor Consistory Court, vol xxviii, 278-9. William BROWNE of Rusper Eng., s of Rev. Joseph, died latter part of 1650. Source: NEHGR, vol 63. Thomas LEE who m. 1/Sarah KIRTLAND and 2/ Mary DE WOLF was baptized 29 Sep 1644 in Rusper, Co. Sussex, Eng.
