Dexter, thank you for the reply, and there are a few parallel
lines, but my Alfred BLACKMAN had to be born before 1821 and
more than likely was born in 1816 in Stamford, Ct.  I don't get
to Stamford too often so I haven't done real serious research on
this line yet.  Records back this far are poorly done in
Connecticut.  Many births, marriages, and deaths were never

Noticed your genealogy message on Blackman.

We had a Blackman clan in Ridgefield from 1805 into the 1920s. Started by 
John Blackman who came here from Fairfield, where Blackmans were a sizable 
clan. But you probably know all that already.
