BARRUS/BARRASS/BARROSS/BARROWS\BACON

     Can anyone tell me anything about a Joseph Merritt BARRUS who married 
a Mary BACON, probably in Boston before 1817.  They had at least two 
children by the names of Joseph Merritt BARRUS, who moved to New Orleans in 
the 1840's and a Charles Augustus BARRUS, who stayed in Massachusetts and 
Rhode Island.

     I found a record of a Joseph Antone BARRASS or BARROSS who married a 
Mary BACON in Boston in 1812, by Thomas Baldwin of the 2nd Baptist Church.  
This may be the same people, but with some confusion to the name.  This 
record gave no other information.  Any clues will be accepted with great 
pleasure.
