BARNES - CT-NY by Marylou Barrett 22 June 1990 ------------------------------------------------ I am searching for Abel BARNES, b ca 1765 ENG, came to US "after the Revolutionary War from Boston, England" according to family records, probably resided New Haven, CT or Litchfield, CT in 1790. He married Mindwell ROBERTS ca 1788. They resided Bristol, Scholarie Co, NY by 1794 (4 children) and later moved to Floyd, Oneida Co, NY. They had 12 sons and 1 daughter. No information on family is listed in CT Barbour records. Have found no help in Oneida Co, NY probate or land records. How soon after Revolutionary War were immigration records required? Any help on where to search further for this family would be appreciated. - Mary Lou Barrett, 13017 SE 171 Pl, Renton, WA 98058 ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ¿ ³ This file appears on The Source of Magic BBS, Ridgefield CT ³ ³ 203-431-4687, specializing in genealogy, radio, and writing. ³ ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ 328/891 21 Jul 90 21:18:31 From: Marylou Barrett To: All Subj: BARNES -Oneida Co, NY Attr: ------------------------------------------------ Looking for information on Abel BARNES b ca 1765, perhaps Boston, England, came to America after the Revolutionary War. For whatever it may be worth, I have an ancestor: Abigail BARNES b. 1671 Marlborough, MA; d. 1749 Stockbridge, MA. She m. Josiah JONES b. 1670; d. 1734 Weston, MA. She was the dau of Thomas BARNES b. 1636 ENG; d. 1679 Marlborough, MA. Do you make any connection with these names? If so I would appreciate any additional information you can give me. -- Dexter--- * Origin: The Elders Council. Tumwater, Wa.
