BACHILOR by Roy Harper Sun Dec 01 1991 ------------------------------- I have been able to verify that my line, through Rev. Stephen Bachilor, does go back to England, but through another of his children, not Deborah, and I know that He was born in England in 1561, and that he attended and graduated from St. Johns College, Oxford, in approx. 1586. He immigrated to Cambridge. New Hampshire, in New England, on 5 June, 1632 at the age of 71, but returned to England at a later date. Deborah was one of his six children by his first wife. (He had four). Another of his children by his first wife was Theodate, b. 1598. She married Captain Christopher Hussey, b. ca 1597 in Dorking, England, d. 1686 in New Hampshire. Their Granddaughter, Bathsheba Hussey, b. 1671, d. 1713, married Thomas Babb, b. ca 1664 on the Isles of Shoals, New Hampshire. Through this line they include me. Rev. Stephen was quite a colorful character, who reportedly "liked to chuck the ladies under the chin".
