Marshfield, MA has dozens of AMES, lots are
Williams descendant's but about half are Robert's descendants.  I have
the 1885/1865 census for Marshfield, the Bridgewaters /Duxbury, Middle-
borough, Rochester and Mattapoisett, MA (state census') makes a real
jigsaw puzzle and it is interesting that between then and now they have
mostly left the area, except for my famous cousin Bob.

It is Ack again (7/27/92 inquired about Ida Mae HATCH ????) after I noted 
in closeing your message to Jeff Linscott re his HATCHs;

My grgrgrandmother was Eliza Ann AMES, b.7/12/1826 Orrington,ME, d. 
Sept.19,1883, Medford,MA and is buried here in Medford along side her 
husband, Ira Philbrick ACKERMAN in a family plot. Also have her father John 
AMES; his father John EAMES; his father Phineas EAMES; his father, Jeremiah 
EAMES; his father, Nathen EAMES; his father, Robert EAMES, d. 7/22/1693; 
their wives and children.

This is on three pages which was left to me, along with 19 pages of other 
families done back in the early 1900s by genealogist,the Reverend Arther 
Wilmot ACKERMAN (husband of earlier mentioned Ida Mae HATCH) under the 
scratch title of "AMES Ancestry" part of the working ACKERMAN genealogy I 
inherited. I suspect it was a working reference for some research Uncle 
Arthur was doing for someone beyond Eliza Ann EMES.

In any case if it has value to your research I would be glad to mail 
photocopies to you if you wish.
