ALLERTON by Bill Smith 14 May 1990 ------------------------------------------------ Re: Isaac Allerton of the Mayflower Allerton's. I have an Allerton book and would be happy to send you the sections on your Allerton line. His father Jonathan was the great, great, great, grandson of the Isaac Allerton, the fifth signer of the Mayflower Compact. I am descended through his grand daughter Rose Allerton. Jonathan was born at Plainfield, Connecticut, Sep. 15, 1746. Married Sep.17,1772, in Sharon Connecticut, to Bathsheba, daughter of Joshua Mead. His son Isaac, born Jan. 15, 1779; married Charlotte Townsend. He reside with his grand parents, after his father's removal to Greene County, in 1783, until he was 15 years old, when he followed him there and assisted him upon his farm until his marriage, March 6, 1806, to Charlotte Townsend. After his marriage he became a wagon maker, and after some years a miller, but being unsuccessful in this latter venture, he removed in 1820, to Benton, in Yeates County, and became a farmer first in that vicinity and afterward at Prattsburgh, in Steuben County. He died in Savona in that County, April 2, 1863. He had eight children: Lucy Ann, m.John Koon; Eliza Ann, m.Ebenezer L. Holcomb; Caroline, m.Ahira Chapin; Townsend, m.Ann Chapin; Leander, m.Jane Bryan; Delanson, m.Mary Jane Dudley; Mary Jane, m.Josuha Bryan; or John T., m.Caroline Rapelyeu.
