Sorenson Subj: John ALDEN ------------------------------- Thanks, K.C. for your message re: John ALDEN. This is what I found in the LDS Ancestral File. John ALDEN, b.1599, Laydon, Eng. I question this, since those folks were in Leyden and I doubt he was there prior to leaving, and from what I have read elsewhere, John just showed up in Southampton and nothing was known about his beginnings or ancestry, however, this is what I found. Father was Geo. ALDEN, b.1575, Southampton, d.1620. Mother, Jane(maiden name unknown) b. 1575. Paternal grandparents, Richard ALDEN, b.1538, d. 30 Apr.1598, Avys(maiden name unknown) b. 1540. Take all this with a grain of salt until original records are cited. If someone out there can substantiate the above, let us know. Good luck!!!
