The Lisa Burmeister
Run For Hope
Home
Every spring, the Col. James T. Connally Squadron, with the help of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team In Training, organizes the Lisa Burmeister Run For Hope, a race/run that benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and raises money for cancer research.  Lisa Burmeister was an AS 200 cadet at Detachment 810, Baylor University, who travelled home for Christmas break in 1993 to visit with her family before returning to Waco and getting ready for her Field Training Preparation semester.  While she was home, she fell ill with a sudden onset of Leukemia and sadly passed away within two weeks.  There were no previous signs of illness or cancer and Lisa was in great shape.  While her family, friends, and fellow students lost something precious that day, the Arnold Air Society chooses to honor her and keep her memory strong by hosting the Run For Hope and helping the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society learn how to fight cancer so that tragedies such as this become a thing of the past.
     This year,
The Lisa Burmeister Run For Hope will be on Saturday, April 16, 2005, on the Baylor University Campus.  There will be a 5k run that begins at 0800 hours (8:00 am).  Registration forms are available on campus at the Student Activities Office, the Student Life Center, at the Detachment, or Online Here .  ALL PROCEEDS BENEFIT THE LEUKEMIA/LYMPHOMA SOCIETY!  For more information, email the webmaster at [email protected].
