June, 2003:
-A judge has regected Paul's second petition in his case. There is still no news on when an appellate court will rule on his appeal.
Febuary 23, 2003:
-The judge has refused to drop the charges against Paul. He has been ordered to appear in superior court Febuary 28th to set a trail date. Paul's Lawyer may appeal. His spokewman, Kelly Bush, says that Paul never knowingly possesed any illegal images and purchased many items in large lots that he had not even opened yet.
January 26, 2003:
-Paul's lawyers argument is that Paul should not face charges for child pornography because his collection of erotica is historical. California's child pornography law was not passed until 1989 and many of the images Paul possesed were created decades earlier, some even from the turn of the 20th century. His lawyer says the the law is unconstitutionally broad and that the statute of limitations expired before the charges were filed. According to reports, officers in November of 2001 removed "well over 30,000 images and over 650 hours of film" and they claim to have found items that violate the law in one book, 25 magazines and one film. His lawyers motion described the collection as "a vast and valuable collection of artwork, kitsch memorabilia, and adult erotica."

-Superior court judge C. H. Rehm has allowed Paul's Lawyer to challenge the charges against him. He has set a January 24 deadline for his lawyer to sumbit a motion to challenge the criminal charges.
November 16, 2002
-Paul has been charged with one misdemeanor count of "possessing materials of children under the age of 18 engaged in sexual misconduct" and has pleaded innocent. He surrendered to the authorities on Friday November 15th and was released on $20,000 bail. If convicted he could face up to one year in jail and a $2,500 fine. Paul's attorney, Blair Berk, says that the charges are "simply untrue and without merit." This accusation is following a year long investigation started on November 16, 2001. If charges had not been pressed the statute of limitation would have run out on November 16, 2002. It is also rumored that police found illegal drugs, specifially extacy, in Paul's house.
-Paul's accuantence, Jeffery Jones (Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Beetleguise), was also charged with a felony count of hiring a 14 year old boy to pose for pornographic photos for him. Both cases stem from the same investigation and accusation. If convicted Jones could face up to three years in jail and would have to register as a known sex offender.

-According to the April 12, 2002, issue of Entertainment Weekly, Paul is doing a stage show at the Groudlings theater. It's called "Beverly Winwood Presents the Actors Showcase." The shows cast is made up of former Groundlings troupe memebers. The premise is a bunch of "rank amateurs who've invited industry pros to their disastrous showcase, doing a few lame minutes of Fame or Willy Loman..." Paul, in a mullet, plays a obviously sighted actor pretending to be blind in "Butterflies are Free", with Lynne Marie Stewart (Yes, Miss Yvonne) doing a "hilariosly blowsy, middle-aged take on that play's ingenue." It is appartently one of the hardest tickets to get in L.A. right now.

�Keep an eyes out on the talk shows, Pauls been doing press for Blow. He was on Letterman last night and should be on Late night with Conan O'Brien Friday, March 6th.
�"You don't know Jack" is apparently back on, according to Paul in his Letterman appearance, March 4.
�The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly has a small pic of Paul with Jennifer Tilly at the Independent Spirit Awards.

Paul has left Carsey-Warner's quiz show "You don't know Jack" according to Variety. It was apparently a mutual descision. Paul had other projects that he wanted to pursue.�

According to Game Spot News, Paul has been signed to host Carsey-Warner's TV quiz show "You don't know Jack", based on the popular CD-ROM game. �
