| WEEK 2 | ||||||||
| Week two started out by everyone writing their name down on a sticky and writing "ONE" word that describes your dieting style and she gave an example of "dieting"... I chose the word "journal" which stands for "I journal like crazy" I have to! I journal on-line and on paper... Others chose, "determined" (speaks for itself), "drowning" (because they drink so much water), some chose initials because they couldn't describe it in "one word". For instance, "w.h.d.w." meaning (wishin', hopin, dreamin', wantin). This was a lot of fun to hear everyone's word. Next we talked about the streghth and style of dieting, remember last week I told you we were doing the twelve steps of dieting. Well our next step is "Streghth and Style" so the leader discussed the different styles of dieting outlined in the week 2 book. We talked about the "Dedicated Profile" - The people with this profile tended to follow the menu's that are handed out. The leader admitted that she was one of these people. She said that one of the problems with this profile is that when you can't follow the rules you tend to quit. The person with this profile sometimes has the attitude "all or nothing" If I can't do it right, I'll quit...They don't allow themselves any flexibility and to be careful... This style goes to the grocery store with a list and buys only what is on the list. Next, the "Adaptor Profile" were most the people in the room and while they looked over the menus handed out they would adapt them to meet their own style. This profile is more likely to try new receipes and experiment with meuns. This profile has more flexibility when it comes to measuring food but be careful. Don't have to much flexibility. This style goes to the store with a list and buys other things that catch the eye. (This is my profile) Last the "Individualist" has the style where they go to the store without a grocery list at all and likes to eat what they like to eat. Never get bored being this style. This style doesn't like to follow the rules so be careful when portioning your food. Portion size does matter. Next week, bring your favorite labels to the foods you couldn't do without. |
