About Us

While seeking direction from other Guides, evaluating and gleaning existing outdoor programs, we found few programs in the outdoors made available for the Deaf Community. Our program definitely opens up avenues for increased personal development in ways that are not commonly available here in the East. Excursions into the great outdoors are a popular way to spend a week, weekend or summer vacation having fun, relaxing and learning about nature.

The program is based in the Adirondack Park which is America's largest wilderness reserve outside Alaska. It's abundance of water, nearly 2,500 lakes and ponds and more than 30,000 miles of river and streams, makes the Adirondacks so distinct. These waters are a major source of recreation. The region is a home to some of the tallest most dramatic mountains in the eastern United States of America.

Traversing the mountains and surrounding wilderness are more than 2,000 miles of marked trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. These offer extreme pitches off the beaten path to challenge rock climbers. One can see that spending time in this majestic area is the perfect environment in which to learn.
