As she opened her eyes, she could hear the whir of the electric fan not far from reach. Delicious, cool air glided over her smooth, soft skin-- skin as fair as winters first snow. She slid her legs between the cool, crisp sheets, and stretched in delight. A contented yawn fell from her rosy, strawberry lips, and a purr followed behind. Suddenly seeking warmth, she rolled to her side and came in contact with a searing heat.
He was on his side facing her. A lock of soft, golden-lit brown velvet fell across his forehead. He looked so innocent, almost child-like, laying there in soft slumber. His chest rose and fell in an even rhythm-- one as old as time and space.
Her hands itched to run thru the velvet that was his hair, or to run long paths down his encompassing arms all the way to the very tips of his oh-so-talented fingers..... Hands like his could give her the world and more. But mostly, it was the rhythm of his heart that captured her being.
His heart beat with all that he was-- with all that she was. For the end of his song-- would forever be her ruin. Without his beat-- she would be no more. She became mesmerized in who and what he was. Lulled in by the faint, and sometimes thunderous crashes of waves that radiated about him.
And so, she sought him. Her body outlining his in perfect harmony. Their hearts blending into a single flawless cadence. And in his innocence, he reached out to her. Not blindly, but knowingly. Even in his slumber, he knew home.
She began to fade in and out of awareness, and he pulled her into his web. He was soaring over plains and passage, and he beckoned her to come with him. Together they could travel the journey. Each one completing the other. She began to follow the rhythm, and soon found herself flying thru the sands of time-- alongside her love. Stars rained down upon them and the moon stood still. Silver pools of light danced around them. Two souls had never sparkled so bright. On and on the night flew.....
Caught in a lovers embrace-- they were in that special place-- the one where all their dreams came true .... Not lost, but rather-- lost in the magic of their stolen spec of time. Neither open to the reality of the world... Unfortunately-- all time must be handed back. Blinding light began to pierce them through and through, and they held tight to one another-- never letting go.
She twisted slightly under the sheets, as she could feel the first blades of light against the peaches of her cheeks, and the expanse of her throat.
"Damn the dawn," was her only coherent thought.
Once again the whir of the fan lulled her into awareness. She slowly lifted her lids to find herself gazing into the most intense set of hazel orbs. For a moment she didnt dare to blink, but then-- a smile found its way upon her honeyed lips. In response-- the orbs began to dance with mischief.
He looked upon her with utter wonderment. She amazed him in so many ways, and with each and everyday. The very thought of what the day could hold........ An electricity was building within him. He reached out and pushed a defiant strand of gold behind her ear. She tilted her face towards his sensual touch, and he began to burn with a passionate fire that tested the borders of his control. Her eyes told him all he needed to know, and he could wait no longer. He swooped down and caught her lips in a crushing kiss that was laced with heat and spice. Her mouth opened to him, and he explored-- marveling in the freshness of each new taste. A million kisses shared between them, and every one just as powerful, if not more, than the last. She tasted like vanilla, and the richness of the earth. A sweet lavender fragrance filled his head and he had to fight for his breath. She moaned in response, and he was drawn to look upon her. This was it-- this was what he had spent his entire life searching for. Thoughts of a far away land no longer filled his mind-- only her....
He was snapped back into her world when he once again heard her moan on a hoarse breath, Michael....
His eyes again sparkled with mischief-- for when had he ever been able to deny his Maria.......
