Different from Pelton turbines. The startup and braking in out turbine do not
need opening and closing jet nozzles, which are very slow and likely to damage
the whole system under emergency conditions. Also, different from Pelton
turbines, our turbine works satisfactorily at flow rates
between 1 L/sec and 1 million L/sec, under
head of water between 3-m and 3,000-m high, with capacity for electric power
production of some 1.5 GW.
We
can therefore conclude that our hydraulic turbine advantageously replaces
higher-power Kaplan, Pelton and Francis turbines constructed to date, used in
Itaipú and Three Gorges (China) hydroelectric plants.
Price of each kW produced is
equivalent to its international quotation of US$ 400.
