AMERICANS ALLIED FOR AN UNDIVIDED JERUSALEM

WHEREAS: Jerusalem, reunited and under Israeli sovereignty is a 
city in which the rights of every ethnic and religious group 
are protected as they have been by Israel for more than 30 years, and

WHEREAS: Jerusalem has been the capital city of the Jewish nation 
and at the core of Jewish history for more than 3,000 years since 
the time of King David, and 

WHEREAS: the Hebrew scriptures invoke loyalty to Jerusalem 680 
times and is in the daily prayers of Jews as well as in their 
prayers during important hfe events and holidays, and

WHEREAS:along with the Biblical covenant with the Jews came the 
promise of the land,

THEREFORE: we call upon the President and Secretary of State to
    1) 	publicly re-affirm United States policy that Jerusalem is and 
	must remain the eternal and undivided capital under the 
	sole sovereignty of the State of Israel, and
    2)	implement the law passed overwhelmingly by both houses of 
	Congress in 1995 and to immediately establish the US 
	Embassy in Jerusalem.
