This website is an unofficial site for announcements and schedules for Congregation Beth El-Atereth Israel of Newton Centre, Massachusetts. As soon as the shul develops its own officially supported and sanctioned website, this site will be closed.
I apologize for the rapid and precipitous changes in this site during the building process. My son , who knows far more about these things than I, has convinced me that simple uploaded text files, such as those seen when you now click on 'This week's schedule' or 'This week's announcements' on the Home page are much easier to keep up to date and to maintain., albeit not as attractive or colorful as webpages themselves.
Hopefully, the website will be kept up to date with the e-mail you receive, but, for the sake of privacy, identifiable full names, for now, will not be included in this website, unless I am given specific permission to do so by individuals. It should be noted that other local shuls publish their announcements on the web with full names all the time [see YI of Sharon]. If pictures are published, I will, reluctantly, blur the faces for now.
This site has been tested on Internet Explorer 4 and 5, Netscape on PCs and Macs, Internet eXploder, Opera and Columbo browsers on PCs with Win95 and Win98. If you find any problems, please let me know.
For those with PC and using Internet Explorer or any other program using its engine, any of the text files [Mishnah Yomi, Schedule, Announcements] and graphic files [Calendar] may be down-loaded to your computer by clicking on the link with your right mouse button, pressing 'Save Target As' and quickly downloading the file.
Thanks for your patience while this evolves, hopefully to be replaced by a more attractive and useful site.
