16 or 18 guage wire or old wire clothes hangers can be easily wound around a pipe about 1/2 inch diameter. I use part of an old cymbal stand. Please dont poke your eye or anything while winding wire.
Cut into rings
Add rings
Cut a piece of 1/2 inch wide metal 10 inches long for a stem. Most hardware stores carry it.
Smooth out rough ends with a file to protect rope, drum, and hands.
Drill hole in stem 1 inch from end to fit rivit. Drill a scrap first to make sure hole fits rivit.
