MAKE YOUR OWN KSINGKSING

Holiday shopping from home!

They are not easily available in some areas and are not too hard to make. Its also great to make them in your own chosen size and shape. I dont think there is an english spelling for these but it sounds to me like 'sekeseke'.

If you have only a few basic hand tools you can easily make your own djembe 'ears'.

These are a more traditional shape but I have seen many shapes and sizes including some that seem giant. I have seen them used in groups of 2 ,3 ,or 4. 3 being most common.

These were made in the spirit of recycling existing materials like olive oil cans or, in Africa condensed milk cans and old wire clothes hangers.

I'm making my new ones from heating duct (about $2.25 USD)

Cut a symetrical shape using folded paper

And trace it on to your sheet metal
