Nadia
sopraano
Though she grew up in a science-loving family, Nadia's heart has always been with the arts. When she was three years old, her parents, not knowing what to do with their constantly-singing daughter, enrolled her in an early childhood music program. Since then, she's been hooked.
Nadia sang with the Schola Cantorum choirs for nine years and is a graduate of the Cantilon Chamber Choir conducted by Heather Johnson. She now sings with the Vancouver women's choir: Elektra and an a cappella pop group at UBC she helped found last year. After studying with Ann Golden Fisher at the Vancouver Academy of Music she is pleased to enter the music program at UBC.
Some of the highlights of her young musical career include achieving a silver medal for her Royal Conservatory of Music voice exam, performing in I Pagliacci,Cavalleria Rusticana and Turandot with the Edmonton Opera, and competing in the vocal solo competition at the International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales.
Nadia amuses Con Fuoco with her scary dictator mindset and expressions and tries to make sure they eat fudge at least once a day. For Nadia being part of Con Fuoco and making music with other young musicians who are excited about singing and always ready to try new things is a very rewarding, strengthening and exhilarating experience.
