Leanne
mezzo sopraano
Leanne has been singing classically for over nine years.  As the daughter of a music teacher, she grew up in a very musically-stimulating environment. You could say that music is in her blood.

Throughout her classical training, Leanne has sung with the Schola Cantorum choirs at Alberta College, Cantilon Chamber Choir, studied voice with Ardelle Ries and Ms. Eva Bostrand. Leanne has also been a member of the University of Alberta Madrigal Singers.

Most recently, Leanne has taken up the viola after playing violin for over twelve years, and is now in in her fourth year of a Bachelor of Music Performance degree studying with Aaron Au. During the summer of 2004, she was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada which toured across Canada performing in various cities along the way. For the summers of 2005 and 2005, she attended the Banff Centre's Masterclass and Orchestra Residency programs, studying with Steven Dann.

As a member of Con Fuoco, Leanne loves giving pitches and singing second soprano lines. She has also enjoyed arranging pieces for Con Fuoco. Leanne is thrilled to be a part of Con Fuoco, not only because it is a rewarding musical adventure, but she has developed life long friendships with other musical souls.
