Dawn
sopraano
Dawn has been singing in choirs for the majority of her 19-year life.  For much of that time, she sang with Schola Cantorum at Alberta College, and also with Cantilon Choirs.  While staying chorally active, Dawn has birthed and nurtured an amazing talent for flute playing, which she pursued by playing in the Edmonton Youth Orchestra for three years. In terms of singing, she took voice lessons with Ardelle Ries for a significant period of time and is now studying voice at the University of Toronto.  In Summer 2003, she competed in an international competition class for solo voice at the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales. She was also accepted into the Canadian Youth Choir and performed at Podium 2006 in Victoria B.C.

When Dawn is not studying music, she can be found conducting an elementary school choir, teaching piano, and flute lessons. Singing, however, is her ultimate passion and she tries to sing for as much of the day as is possible!

Dawn brings to Con Fuoco the expertise of a professional musician, in all aspects of musicianship, ensemble, and talent.  Dawn's high soprano voice adds amazing vitality and flexibility to the group's sound so she usually gets the roller coaster rides above the staff.

While singing with Con Fuoco, Dawn has truly learned how valuable music can be, to mind, body, and soul, and continues to sing because she wants everyone to experience the wonders of music as she has seen it.
